On Saturday we went to the Brooklyn Bridge Park with the Au’s.
Alice suggested seeing a new outdoor exhibit that had a few fun activities.
This water wall was at Pier 1.
I think it’s safe to say the kids loved this.
After surprisingly getting a large enough table for all of us to eat lunch at Shake Shack, and then getting some ice cream, we headed off to the other piers to see what else awaited us.
CJ was a trooper.
If you ran fast enough around the inner circle, one would be able to travel through time.
The tallest chair in the world.
So I wanted to walk all the way to Pier 6 which is about 3/4 a mile from Pier 1, and it was a long and treacherous walk because of the hot sun. I really don’t remember the sun being so lethal when I was a kid. Our ozone must be thinning out.
I read that there was this Water Lab at the end that we missed last year. Well, apparently I wasn’t the only one who knew about it.
Way too crowded, but it was a nice way for the kids to cool down.
These are some great photos that Alice took.
It was a great day and the kids had a lot of fun and for the most part they behaved which made things exponentially easier for us old adults. But at the end of the day, I ended up running my very own mini 3-mile tough mudder because when I went back to get the car to pick everyone up, I realized that I grabbed the wrong keys and had to trek it back to Pier 6 from where we were parked…Pier 2. So I ended up jogging most of the length of the Park three times in 45 minutes. Well, at least I know Brooklyn Heights much better and I now have a good idea of where to park depending upon which Pier we want to hangout at.
