Last month we went to Fairway Supermarket out in Douglaston to pick up a few months supply of gluten and egg free french toast sticks for CJ. He can not eat almost an entire box in one week, so we tend to buy eight boxes each trip out and this time they were on sale too. We happened to also pick up gluten and egg free bread, a rare discovery as one can find gluten-free bread in most modern supermarkets like Trader Joe’s, but one without eggs too is like hitting the lotto. CJ has never had a real sandwich before, so we were excited to try this out.
We only purchased one loaf, but the bread is securely sealed within its bag that the company claims the bread can last up to a year if not opened. Sadly though, once opened the shelf life is only one week-long before it begins to go bad. So if CJ likes this stuff, we’ll be sure to get a few months worth during our next run.
CJ’s first peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
You can just see CJ’s excitement oozing through your screen. He was watching television at the time, but so far he’s finished two sandwiches (one slice cut into two pieces) and by this time he would have had his third one on Monday for lunch at school.
