Half-Time

I love July. It’s the time when I start my summer break and I’m simply resting and doing much of what I want to do. But when August rolls around, things begin to slowly crumble as I return to work late in the month. I start to count down the days as my mind thinks and stresses more frequently about the coming school year. It’s as if I’m facing some type of impending doom or imminent threat that is coming to suck me back into the grind. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the month as it’s normally softball season and I still have a lot of time to rest, but I begin seeing the end of the tunnel as I gear up for another 10-month long work project called teaching.
