On Saturday we drove all the way out to exit 71, Riverhead, to go organic strawberry picking with another family from church.
Asian Flower Gang.
CJ’s too cool for flowers.
Where’s the dinosaur chicken?
CJ did some shopping before we headed out into the fields.
It was a beautiful day for picking.
Believe it or not, these weren’t really red enough.
Let the games begin.
They actually had this play kitchen that I immediately recognized as my sister’s play kitchen from the early 90’s. I remember her beating me a few times on that chalkboard playing tic-tac-toe.
All he really wanted to do was climb over the wooden border planks over and over again.
With great power comes great responsibility.
We had a great time together with our friends and we’re just happy that the wife was able to get off from work to relax and create lasting memories.
Since we were already so far out in Long Island, we decided to go visit friends who used to go to LFCC whom we haven’t seen in almost two years. CJ received a boatload of toys because they weren’t able to attend his first birthday party back in December.
Since we were still out in Long Island, we decided to also go to the Tanger Outlet at Deer Park near exit 52. Tanger’s discounts are normally 10% less than Woodbury Commons, but I suppose since it was father’s day weekend most stores had 50% off sales.
It was around dinner time on our way back home, and since we were going to spend Father’s Day dinner at my parent’s house, we ate at Gyro World which is becoming a Father’s Day tradition for us, two years in a row. I think I’d rather eat their meats than most steakhouses.
It was a fun-filled and time well spent type of weekend. After church on Sunday, I got to spend time with my grandfather as I gave him a haircut and I’m looking forward to spending time with my dad at the Dodgers/Yankees game this Wednesday night. I’m really blessed to be part of a great group of Dads.
