From what I’ve been told, and which makes sense, kids progress from drinking from a bottle, to one of those sippy cups, and then to one with a straw. Well, CJ has bypassed step two and has gone straight for the straw. We purchased three different sippy cups, all with various lengths, textures, and so on, but to no avail did CJ latch on to the concept of drinking from a cup. Then we got the bright idea of perhaps trying to get him to drink from a straw cup. Why? Because CJ knows that the wife and I use a clear tumbler cup that has its own straw to drink from, and he probably would want one of his own. Well, we were right.
This also coincided with starting him on organic whole milk last week and thankfully he’s not allergic to dairy and, for the most part, likes cold cow’s milk. With the cup and non-formulaic milk, he takes his time to drink his portion, but it’s great to see CJ grow up just a little bit more.
